1. About the service
Interfaace is a pictogram-based communication app published by EMBBERS SOLUTIONS S.L., a limited liability company under Spanish law (Sociedad de Responsabilidad Limitada). Registered office: Polígono 1, Parcela 202, 07460 Pollença, Balearic Islands, Spain. NIF (Tax ID): B27568435. Filed with the Registro Mercantil de Palma de Mallorca, Hoja PM-106861. The app lets its users communicate through pictograms (symbolic images representing everyday concepts) and exchange messages within private conversations.
Interfaace is an educational communication tool. It is not a medical device and does not replace any therapeutic care.
2. Acceptance of terms
Use of Interfaace is conditional upon acceptance of these Terms of Service and of the Privacy Policy. This acceptance is collected on first use of the app, after verifying that registration is carried out by an adult.
3. Registration and accounts
Registration is open to any adult. As the app is primarily intended to be used by children, an adult (parent, legal guardian, professional) creates the account and takes responsibility for it.
Three registration methods are available:
- Email address and password (with confirmation via a 6-digit code)
- Sign in with Apple
- Google Sign-In
The user is responsible for keeping their login credentials confidential.
4. Use of the service
The user agrees to use Interfaace in a manner consistent with its educational and communication purpose. In particular, the user must not:
- Publish or transmit any unlawful, offensive, violent, discriminatory or sexual content
- Use the service to harass, threaten or harm others
- Attempt to access other users’ accounts
- Circumvent the app’s security measures
- Use the service for unauthorised commercial purposes
5. User content
Custom pictograms
Users may create custom pictograms by uploading photos (faces, objects, places). These photos remain the property of the user who uploaded them. Embbers claims no rights over this content.
Uploaded photos may be analysed automatically in order to detect any inappropriate or unlawful content. If such content is detected, it is blocked and reviewed by our team.
Catalogue pictograms
The pictograms provided in the Interfaace catalogue are the intellectual property of Embbers. They are made available for use within the app and may not be extracted, reproduced or redistributed.
Messages
Messages exchanged in conversations are private. Embbers does not access message content except in the case of a user report or a legal obligation.
6. Moderation
Reactive moderation
Embbers reserves the right to remove any content reported as inappropriate or in breach of these terms, after review. Users have a reporting mechanism available within the app.
Proactive moderation
Images uploaded by users may be analysed automatically to detect any inappropriate or unlawful content (in particular child sexual abuse material, nudity or violence). If such content is detected, it is blocked and reviewed by our team.
Applicable measures
Depending on the severity of the breach, Embbers may:
- Remove the content concerned
- Issue a warning to the user
- Temporarily suspend the account
- Permanently delete the account
A user whose content has been subject to a moderation measure may contest that decision by contacting us at contact@embbers.com.
Reporting to authorities
If manifestly unlawful content is discovered (in particular any child sexual abuse material), Embbers is required to report it to the competent authorities in accordance with the law. For users residing in the United States, Embbers cooperates with the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC).
7. Intellectual property
The Interfaace app, its source code, its design, its catalogue pictograms and all of its elements are protected by intellectual property law. Any unauthorised reproduction, modification or distribution is prohibited.
8. Limitation of liability
Interfaace is provided “as is”. Embbers does not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. Embbers cannot be held liable for:
- The consequences of using or being unable to use the service
- Data loss due to force majeure
- Content generated by users
9. Account deletion
The user may delete their account at any time from the app settings. Deletion results in:
- Erasure of all personal data (profile, preferences, uploaded photos)
- Removal of images stored on our servers
- Anonymisation of the account in shared conversations

10. Changes to the terms
Embbers reserves the right to modify these terms. Users will be informed of any substantial change through an in-app notification. Continued use of the service after notification constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
11. Governing law and jurisdiction
These terms are governed by Spanish law. Any dispute relating to their interpretation or performance will be brought before the competent courts of Palma de Mallorca, Spain. For consumers residing in the European Union, the mandatory consumer-protection provisions of their country of residence remain applicable, and they retain the right to bring proceedings before the courts of that country.
12. Use in educational settings
Schools, teachers or education professionals wishing to use Interfaace with their pupils must first enter into a data processing agreement with Embbers. This agreement defines the respective responsibilities regarding the protection of pupils’ data, in accordance with applicable regulations (in particular FERPA in the United States and the GDPR in the European Union).

13. Subscriptions and payment
Available plans
Interfaace offers several tiers of access:
- Discovery: free, basic features.
- Plus: monthly or annual subscription (annual rate reduced).
- Family: monthly or annual subscription, up to 5 members sharing the same subscription (household, relatives, support team).
- Pro: for schools and professionals, on quote.
Exact prices, inclusive of taxes, are shown in the app before any purchase. Prices may vary by region according to App Store policy.
Purchase through the App Store
The Discovery, Plus and Family subscriptions are sold through Apple’s in-app purchase system (StoreKit). On that basis, Apple Distribution International Ltd acts as distributor: the payment transaction is concluded between the user and Apple, under the Apple Media Services Terms. Embbers provides the corresponding service and has no access to the user’s banking details. Free promotional access may also be granted via codes (gift, partnership, professional use), without an App Store transaction.
Automatic renewal
Paid subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period (monthly or annual), until cancelled by the user. The Apple account is charged within the 24 hours preceding the end of the current period.
Cancellation
The user can cancel their subscription at any time from their Apple account settings. To avoid renewal, cancellation must occur at least 24 hours before the renewal date, as Apple charges the account within the 24 hours preceding the end of the current period. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the paid period; no prorated refund is owed. The app provides direct access to the App Store subscriptions management page.
Right of withdrawal
In accordance with Article 16 of Directive (EU) 2011/83 on consumer rights, by activating the subscription the user expressly consents to the immediate provision of the service and acknowledges that they thereby lose their 14-day right of withdrawal. Any refund requests are handled by Apple under its own policy, accessible from the user’s Apple account.
Price changes
Any price change is notified to the user through the app and through Apple. The user may cancel their subscription before the new price takes effect if they do not wish to accept it.
Consequences of cancellation
At the end of a paid subscription, the user’s account remains active and automatically reverts to the free Discovery plan. Custom pictograms and conversations created during the paid period remain accessible and usable. However, as long as their number exceeds the limits of the Discovery plan, the creation of new items is suspended until the user is again within those limits or subscribes again to a paid plan.
Pro plan (institutions)
The Pro plan is intended for schools, education or health professionals. It is contracted outside the App Store, under a service agreement concluded directly with EMBBERS SOLUTIONS S.L. on terms and pricing negotiated on a case-by-case basis.
